Those used to be the biggest things Ryan had to worry about. Not what he was going to have to say to a judge in order to be able to see his own daughter more than once a month. The politics of divorce only served to spin up his temper and make him a cold-hearted bastard to his fellow firefighters, his friends, and even his family. In the middle of all of this drama, Ryan found a friend. A friendship which exploded in his mind once he found out she was a widow; her husband having been killed while deployed in the Middle East. Ryan felt like Lindsay was a living piece of his soul. Can Lindsay hold him together through the trials of having his daughter abducted? Can she show Ryan that love is what binds people together, especially during a time of strife, showing him the way to happiness?... ✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺✺ ❧ What Readers Are Saying ❧ …This is nice read with an array of emotions, ready to take you over. Once everything was cleaned up, Ryan pulled Lindsay into his arms. His mouth found hers in a hungry kiss; all he had been able to think about all day was getting everything moved and then taking Lindsay to bed in what was now their place. They’d decided to put her bed in the master bedroom since Lindsay’s was a queen-size opposed to Ryan’s double, and it was much more comfortable. Ryan had even taken the time to put the sheets on the bed once it was together so they could just fall into it later. This did nothing for his hunger during the day for her. He reached down and picked her up by the waist and Lindsay laughed in between kisses as he walked her to the bedroom. “I’ve wanted to do this all day,” Ryan said against her mouth. “I felt bad. You guys doing all the work, moving this stuff. All I did was entertain twenty-five seven year olds all day.” “It went fast,” he told her, starting to unbutton the blouse she was wearing. “It’s was like working at the fire station. You get into teams, split up the work, and get it done. Most of it was the coordination to do both apartments at the same time.” Lindsay pulled his t-shirt loose from his pants, running her hands underneath it. “You did a nice job. And even made the bed,” she said, kissing him. “I’m impressed.” “I aim to please, lady.” He silenced any further conversation between them as his mouth and hands began roaming over her body. His patience level was limited knowing he had to have her soon. She fell into his embrace as he reached down to pick her up and put her on the bed, finishing off the rest of her clothes before quickly divesting himself of his. Sliding onto the bed with her, he leaned over and turned off the lamp on the nightstand, letting the rest of the world disappear as he took Lindsay in his arms. All was right with his world, knowing he would come home and she would always be there. A sense of security and completeness encompassed him as he turned his complete attention to the beautiful woman in his arms…

Season 1
Episode 1
by
TN King, NJ Cole
Sept 15 - Sept 22nd
Zachary Russells is one of the hottest, sexiest male celebrities of all time, and he is only twenty-one. In an alternate world where humans are property, Zachary finds himself wanting a companion, and a human pet seems the perfect choice. Much to his surprise, the day Zachary walked into a pet shop to buy his new human pet, he didn't expect rebellion and independence coming from his purchase. In a hot, steamy, sexy, story where dominance is favored in public, submission is a given, and punishment is handed out, can his new pet, Megan, adapt to her new owners wants and needs?
Warning: Intense bondage, aggressive sex, human trafficking. Bonus: Serving Mistress Quinn by NJ Cole NJ Cole shows her support for this new author by giving readers a bonus short story. Serving Mistress Quinn is a 6,500 word one shot. Mistress Quinn has been living the life of a vampire for centuries. When she happens upon an older Native American, she plans to torture him, and then have him for lunch. Much to her surprise and pleasure, she learns that he enjoys the pain and the two of them embark on a new journey in which she finds herself having a very willing pet. Serving Mistress Quinn does contain BDSM and sexual situations, but all relations are consensual.
âOh my god. Isnât that Zachary Russells?â Zachary Russells walked down Canine Avenue, the most heavily populated shopping district in all of Los Angeles, with the stride and slight swagger of confidence. He knew he turned heads, even dressed in his casual designer jeans and dress shirt. Everywhere he went; women couldnât help but open their mouths and fan their faces when they saw his chiseled profile and charming smile. People Magazine rated him as the sexiest man in the world for the past three consecutive years.
His rise to fame began at the age of twelve, when he featured in the hit blockbuster film, Reverb. The film grossed almost a billion dollars at the box office, which led to a series of seven sequels. Zachary would flash a smile and give his fans a seductive look with his bright grey eyes as he winked. Every once in a while, he stopped to sign autographs and take a couple of photos. But that didnât stop his purpose as he walked through the shopping district. Five days ago, Zachary had turned twenty-one, the legal age to own a slave. Ever since then, he had been in and out of Canine Avenue, window-shopping for his perfect pet: a human pet.
Finally, one store caught his eyes. There were rows of glass cages lined up against the window. Each one of them hosted a human male or female. He stopped for a moment, browsing through the girls. They were naked, lying on their bellies. Each cage had two bowls and a thin blanket. The pets all had tails coming out of their bottoms. They were clearly buttplugs, used to arouse customers and persuade them to buy the storeâs merchandise. Zachary walked into the pet shop and was greeted enthusiastically by the sales clerk. âMr. Russells, this is a pleasure,â the clerk said while shaking the celebrityâs hand. âHow may we help you today?â Zachary read the sales clerkâs nametag. âWell, Michael. Iâm looking for a female pet.â
Michael ushered Zachary into a private back room, and soon the celebrity was seated on a plush, black sofa with a glass of fine wine in his hand. He respectfully declined any finger food. After some small talk with the clerk about more of what he was looking for, a series of girls were brought out one by one to be displayed for the young star. Blondes, brunettes, and redheads were shown to the man, but none struck Zacharyâs fancy. They were all beautiful and seemed very well trained and obedient, but Zachary wanted something unique. Los Angeles was full of beautiful girls, and all the girls presented to him showed some form of cosmetic surgery to enhance their looks. Zachary wanted something different to satisfy his taste.
NJ Cole is a witty, mid-western girl with a kinky side. She works by day and writes by night, all while being a mother to her wonderful boys and serving her Sir. Unlike many of todayâs authors, she chooses to write in first person, allowing the readers to experience life through the eyes of the unique characters that live in her head. Her love of those characters and respect for their stories come through loud and clear in her writing. With over two million reads of her online work in the past six months, NJ Cole is clearly an up and coming author.

I live in Michigan with my husband and three fur kids! I have degrees in history and criminal justice- so be prepared for some of that! As a cancer sign- I love the water, so be on the lookout for that! Water has a way of hugging your body and washing everything away. It's truly breathtaking. I probably go on walks more than I talk to people. Walking is a way of getting down to zero. I'm addicted to coffee but I've been pop free for almost three years! M&M's are my favorite and I also love trail mix. Yes, I'm the weirdo who eats raisin-nets with my popcorn.
When I was about three, my mom said, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I think she was expecting me to say, “A mommy, like you.” Instead, I popped off with, “I want to be a writer.” I can still remember her face. She said, “Well, don’t you think you need to learn to read first?”
I didn’t think so.

Lisel Spann has dreamed only of wonderful things in her future. Living with her father, sister, and brother in a cramped apartment in Berlin, the small family shares what seems to be an unbreakable spirit of love and security. However, with the rise of the Nazi party and approaching dark clouds of war, any kind of future grows increasingly uncertain. Knowing little of hate and destruction, Lisel is ill prepared as the storms of battle erupt in full fury and loved ones are taken from her as her beautiful city is reduced to rubble.
With fear and despair rising within, it is through her quiet, compassionate father that Lisel discovers faith and hope. Now, in a desperate journey to find her sister, Lisel and her neighbor flee Berlin and the advancing Russians for Frankfurt, a city under the protection of the Allies. But their flight to safety is filled with pain, hunger, and terror. However, with spiritual lessons and blessings from her father, the support of departed loved ones, and her tried but undying faith in a loving Heavenly Father, perhaps Lisel can emerge like the fireweed—rising strong and beautiful from scorched earth —transforming bitterness and despair into a charity that never faileth.

Excerpt 2
Lisel put her arm around Susanne’s shoulder. “Hush now. It will be all right soon.” Lisel heard the returning hum of the airplane. She tilted back her head as if she could see skyward, but there was only the white plaster of the ceiling above her. From the movement of the sound, Lisel knew the aircraft had banked and was circling back. As it drew closer, the sound became angrier, the hum of a fierce buzz. Lisel pulled in a deep breath and squeezed it in her throat. Then she heard it. The shrill whistle of the plummeting bomb. Next to her, Susanne screamed. Lisel pulled Susanne down so they both crouched low to the floor, their arms over their heads. The explosion rocked the walls. The light went out. Lisel heard the bursting, shattering glass from the windows upstairs. She heard the panicked screaming of the other women. Plaster dust from the ceiling swirled around her and she choked. It seemed any moment the walls would give way. But they stood. For three hours, the women of the Wittenau Munitions Works huddled in the dark cellar and listened to the battle above them. Lisel and Susanne held each other. Under her breath, Lisel prayed. “Please, Father. Please protect us. Please protect Papa and Marta and Michael and Kurt. Please make it stop.” Some of the time, repeating the prayer blocked the sounds of the aircraft motors and bombs and explosions. Some of the time, horrifying visions of Papa and Marta under tons of brick flashed with searing clarity through her mind. Some of the time, she thought of Michael and wondered if this is what it was like for him. Except she knew it must be worse. Michael would be outside, unprotected from bombs and bullets and shrapnel. And some of the time, she wondered where Kurt was and prayed for him, too. She prayed for the anti-aircraft gunners. And at the same, in her desperation to have it end, she prayed the gunners’ mark would be true. Some of the time, Lisel envisioned her own death and knew she could not survive the night. The basement of the Wittenau Munitions Works would be her grave. The “all clear” came at nearly three-thirty. Lisel and Susanne pulled each other up. “Is it over, then?” Susanne asked. “Yes,” Lisel answered. The bombing was over but the fear was not. She must get home to Papa and Marta. Lisel followed the other women out of the cellar. Her legs ached and her knees shook under her weight. She hesitated at the door, certain to the bottom of her heart that her world had been destroyed. Papa and Marta were crushed beneath their burning apartment house. “What a mess,” she heard one of the women declare. Lisel stepped into the workroom. Glass was everywhere. Tables were turned over. Grenades scattered across the floor. An odor of phosphorus hung in the air. She ran to the glassless window. Next door, in an empty lot, a huge, black crater smoked. Lisel searched the city in the direction of her home. The red glow of firelight showed where bombs had fallen but, to Lisel’s surprise, the glowing spots were few. A tiny hope let itself shine. Perhaps Papa and Marta were safe after all. With anxiety at her heels, Lisel ran toward the door. “Workers!” Herr Hahn shouted. Reluctantly, she stopped. There would be serious trouble for her now if she left. Stilling her feet, she turned. “Our glorious defense system has defeated the enemy and driven him out,” Herr Hahn said. “Now, we must also defeat the enemy. We will prove our superiority by finishing tonight’s quota along with our quota tomorrow night.” Lisel waited only as second more before she bolted for the door. A hundred women came right behind her. The scheduled train was late that morning. Someone thought the tracks might have been damaged in the bombing. A huge knot of worry tightened in Lisel’s stomach until she thought she would throw up. She fought back her nausea by pacing the wood floor of the dark, crowded railway station. Mutely, Susanne sat on a bench, her fingers bunching and unbunching. Some women, like Susanne, sat in silence, muffling sobs. Other women, in frustration, decided to walk to their homes. Lisel dismissed the idea. For her walk would take hours and if Papa had survived, he might try to come to Wittenau for her and they would miss each other. She would wait here for a train. At last, with the sun shining through the low, gray clouds, Lisel boarded her homeward train. Then, she ran all the way to her street. Nowhere did she see any damage at all. Her heart nursed a renewed hope. At her corner, Lisel leaned against the lamppost, breathless and weak with relief. Her apartment house still stood, tall and stone-faced, looking as it had always looked. “Thank you, Father,” she breathed. https://www.facebook.com/events/795423343911119/ And catch all these great blogs

Must Love Ghosts

Sept 7th - Sept 14th
Seducing the Rational Skeptic...
Abby Reed believes in folk songs, faery tales, and ghosts, but she doesn't believe in love. Things change, however, when her pen-pal-slash-best-friend, Mike Stone arrives in Banshee Creek after his last tour of duty in Afghanistan. When their Halloween Party encounter turns out-of-this-world steamy Abby starts having doubts about friendship, ghosts...and love.
Chapter 1
âWell, I want you in my zombie apocalypse survival team.â
Mike Stone turned towards the throaty female voice. A tall girl with long magenta hair glanced at his military fatigues appreciatively. Her eyes were yellow, with slit pupils, like a catâs.
He was standing on a cobblestone street surrounded by colonial buildings with brick façades and old-fashioned moldings. Baskets with chrysanthemum blooms hung from wrought iron lampposts and vintage signs adorned the quaint, if slightly run-down, shops. Banshee Creek, Virginia was the kind of town where the shop signs announced âYe Olde Bake-Shoppe,â and âMerrie Colonial Pubbe.â
The magenta-haired girl in the black catsuit and sky-high heels looked decidedly incongruous. She blinked as the afternoon sun hit her on the face, and realization dawned. Contacts. She must be wearing contacts.
âThatâs a very realistic costume,â she purred, her smile displaying plastic fangs. âWarm, too. I didnât realize it got so cold here in October. Next year, Iâll put on a nice thick fur and come as a Siberian were-cat.â
âUm, thanks,â he replied. He didnât know how to tell her that it wasnât a costume. That he wasnât an aspiring zombie survivalist, just an ordinary soldier on leave.
âHere.â She handed him an orange flyer. âYouâre officially invited to the Banshee Creek Costume Party.â
He grabbed the flyer. It screeched âParty Tonight!â in an exaggerated Gothic font.
âThe Guinness Book of World Records people will be there,â the cat girl explained, her feline eyes sparkling with excitement. âWeâre trying to make it the biggest Halloween costume party in history so make sure you register.â
She winked at him, and turned to a spindly young man on stilts. He was wearing large grey wings and red-tinged goggles.
âHey, Mothman,â she shouted. âGreat costume. Weâre really excited about the latest sighting.â She waved an orange flyer. âDo you know where to register for the party?â
They walked off, leaving Mike behind. He looked at the throngs of people lining Main Street. He counted three Elves, eleven princesses, and a platoon of naughty nurses.
Heâd forgotten it was Halloween.
More to the point, heâd forgotten it was Halloween in Banshee Creek, Virginia. The Fall Equinox was no laughing matter in the Most Haunted Town in the U.S.A.
Well, that accolade wasnât official yet. But his Army buddy, Cole Hunt, had been certain that his hometown would win the coveted title. Cole and his friends had been diligently documenting the local hauntings so as to convince the powers-that-be that their town could be the premier paranormal destination in the United States.
And Mike had heard all about their plans. Cole had stayed in touch with his Banshee Creek buddies all through their two-year deployment to Afghanistan. Heâd supervised the investigations from afar and edited the documentaries in his free time. As a result, Mike had sat through endless hours of night-vision footage and had spent many days listening to static trying to discern what Cole described as âelectronic voice phenomena.â
Oh, yes. His friend had a plan. Cole intended to come back to Banshee Creek, marry his fiancée and turn the town into the ghost capital of the United States.
But Cole didnât get to come back.
He died in Afghanistan, and Mike, who had no plans, no family, and no home, survived.
The irony was inescapable. The guy with no future made it out alive, but the one with the plan, the one with the loving family, the one with the devoted girlfriend.
That guy didnât make it back home.
Mike hoisted his duffle bag, avoided a laughing foursome dressed in Star Trek uniforms, and walked up the cobblestone street. He didnât have a life plan like Cole, but right now he was a man on a mission, a mission to find 12 Hooded Owl Road, Banshee Creek, Virginia.
He looked down Main Street, assessing the town heâd heard so much about. Banshee Creek was laid out like a typical small Virginia village, with one main road lined with shops and Colonial row houses. An auto repair shop with a neon 1950âs sign that read âVirginia Vintage Motorsâ sat on a corner. The shopâs small parking lot was full of restored cars and a couple of kids in ghost costumes were taking pictures around a black 1967 Impala. The car was nice, but Mikeâs eyes kept drifting towards a late-model Jeep Wrangler with an elegant black paint job. Sure, it didnât qualify as âantiqueâ or even âvintage,â but it looked cool and the price was very affordable.
Which was probably due to the stagnant local economy. Most of the stores had âfor saleâ or âfor rentâ signs. Sheets of plywood covered the windows of the local bookstore. A small movie theater held pride of place in the center of town, but its marquee was broken and the last movie featured seemed to be Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Yet there were a few signs of life. A real estate sign in front of a dilapidated mansion with the sloping roof of a stereotypical haunted house had a sold sticker. The row houses had small gardens in front, many of them covered with weeds, but an enterprising soul had put out planters with purple and orange flowers in an attempt to spruce up the sidewalk.
And the town still attracted visitors, in spite of its ramshackle state. The streets were full of costumed partygoers and a couple of businesses, including a pizzeria and a bakery, were busy with customers. The crisp fall air carried the scent of apples and cinnamon and he experienced a sudden craving for cider. The hardware store had a table in front filled with Halloween paraphernalia and the glowing red goggles worn by theâwhat was the name, again?âMothman, thatâs it. The Mothman goggles seemed to be quite popular. A bunch of kids in black capes were trying them on and taking pictures.
Back in Afghanistan, Coleâs plan to paranormalize his hometown sounded silly and far-fetched. But here in Banshee Creek it was starting to make sense.
âLooking for a house?â
He turned and a teenage boy in jeans and a yellow t-shirt with a large letter X handed him a piece of paper. Curiosity piqued, Mike took it, carefully avoiding the kidâs metal claws.
It was a homemade map, made by someone with a talent for drawing and an excessive fondness for horror movie fonts. The title was âBanshee Creekâs Haunted Housesâ and there was something very familiar about the style of the illustrations.
He identified Main Street and the Second Empire house, but what was that strange dark line that crisscrossed the town? A river? Railroad tracks? He squinted at the complicated script, making out the words âgeomagnetic fault.â Upon closer inspection he realized that several of the buildings were marked with cartoon ghost symbols. He turned the paper to read the map legend, which described the various ghosts and other critters that supposedly infested the town. One of them identified as a brownie, but wasnât that a dessert? Or a uniformed child that sold cookies? At the bottom of the page there was a hand drawn copyright symbol and the authorâs name.
Cole Hunt.
He quickly looked away from the name, and focused on the map, tracing the streets with a finger. There it was, right off Main Street, Hooded

Damaged

Avelyn Paige
Sept 7th â Sept 14th
Evie Carter has faced trials and tribulations her entire life. Her teenage years have been ripped away from her as she battles cancer. Just when things canât get any worse, her doctor delivers the news that itâs finally time to make a life or death decision. Her options are limited and come with deadly consequences. The miracle drug that is meant to save her life changes her on a cellular level. She might not be damaged anymore, but she might just be damned in her new life.
As I return his gaze, my heart seems to stop and time slows to a screeching halt. Thereâs nothing else that he can do to save me. The only chance I have now is to trust that these researchers in their government funded laboratories have discovered some miracle drug that might give me my life back. I lean back into my pillows clutching the black and gold fleece Purdue blanket my eight year old niece, Shay, made me when my hospital stays increased to weeks instead of days. Touching the soft fleece helps my rapid heartbeat slow down and allows my mind to consider the options. I close my eyes and consider what I have to gain if I could through with the drug trials. It could help me lead a normal life if it works or it could take away the quality of life in the time I have left. I know deep down I want to live and this trial could mean everything in my battle. After what seems like hours, even though it was only a few minutes in reality, I open my eyes and look for my parents. They are both sitting in the blue plastic covered recliners in my room holding each otherâs hands with their foreheads pressed together in what I am assuming is prayer. They hear the plastic move on my hospital bed as I shift trying to make myself as comfortable as I can with all the tubes coming out of me and they turn their faces towards me. The look on my motherâs face tells me that they know Iâm about to make the decision that will forever change our family. A decision that I donât even think they would have the strength to make on my behalf. I turn my eyes to Dr. Bob, who is still sitting on the edge of my bed waiting for my decision. It takes me a few seconds to realize that I hold the keys to my life in what Iâm about to say. As I open my lips the tears finally begin to flow.
I utter quietly as I wipe away my tears, âI want to do the trial. Where do I sign?â

Avelyn lives in rural Indiana with her pastor husband, 2 spoiled cats, and one very odd looking dog. Sheâs an oncology research scientist by day and a writer and book review blogger by night. She enjoys reading anything she can get her hands, baking, and spending time with her friends and family.
Never intending on ever writing her own book, the idea behind the Damaged series came to her on a drive to work early one morning thinking about her father whoâd recently passed away. His strength during his cancer and rare blood disease battle inspired Avelyn to do something sheâs never thought about before. Sheâs excited to see where this wild ride takes her.

When I was reading I thought something was missing. I haven't figured it out. It could be that I haven't read the others in the series, but I don't think that was it. Other than that it was a great read and I recommend it for anyone look...
